Who are we...and why are we here?
Mark and I have been the proprietors of Benjamin Fig in downtown, Sonora, CA since 1978. We have enjoyed decades of dogs in our lives and in our store. Many of our customers have enjoyed our dogs, as well. In 1999, we began feeding a raw diet to our dogs.
DharmaDog began in 2002, as a response to the complete disinterest by area pet stores to carry supplies for raw feeders. Our first products were from Grandad's Pet Foods, a "local" manufacturer from Lodi, CA and Diestal Turkey Ranch, Sonora, CA. We purchased 1 freezer, and had 1 regular custormer! In 2004, we installed 2 upright freezers in the back office area of Benjamin Fig and expanded our selection to include Nature's Variety, Primal, Evo, Premier head halters & harnesses, books & dvds on clicker and positive reinforcement training, training treats, etc. etc.
